Overlapping illustrations using tracing paper: Moisés Mahiques

After spotting an illustration of Moisés Mahiques on Pinterest I was urged to transfer some of my sketches onto tracing paper an over lap them to create a similar look to what I was creating previously. This technique creates a time lapse feel due to the opacity of the underneath sketch, it makes the illustration become more alive and the layers become more realistic rather than the ones I had created all sharing the same surface/paper.

I feel as if using layers and overlapping illustrations it provides the audience with a sense of movement and allows you to understand what the individual is doing throughout the illustration. It also provides a sense of time, and that when I was gathering research I was studying the individual for a period of time rather than just a quick observational drawing.
